If you don't have a car, my advice, stay between Jefferson and Adams AND between Vermont and Figueroa. Any where else and you're bound to get mugged.

If your avatar is a true representation of you there shouldn't be much problem. Whiteys shouldn't venture out after dark in that area. Seriously.

Ahaha, USC is surrounded by the ghetto!

You're better off living off campus and driving to class with a car (an old beatup car, not a nice car that is bound to get stolen)

Or you can go to UCLA, in Westwood (a much nicer area)

That's one lucky girl. Sounds like it could have easily turned into a kidnapping.

UCLA
Don't kid yourself, the area around UCLA isn't much better. Especially the closer you move towards the 405/10 freeways. Laptops, PDAs, and cell phones will attract a criminal element regardless of being in the ghetto or not.

A guy at my is graduating from USC, I'll ask him what areas you should look for housing in, PM me if another Trojan hasn't chimed in yet.
