Housesitting in a snow-laden cabin... which book to read?

So. I'm sitting in a snow covered cabin, with three books on my desk: A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man and Ulysses by Joyce, and The Brothers Karamozov by Dostoevsky. I have a solid week of sitting around and reading in front of me and need to choose a path (I know I should read Portrait before Ulysses...).

This is a rare opportunity to throw myself completely at a novel (4+hours a day) without interruption. Which should I choose?

Damn you both! Now I'm gonna have nightmares about those damn twins...

As a strange coincidince, I drove over the pass at Mt. Hood to get here: right past Timberline Lodge...

portrait.

Brothers K and Ulysses are both more than 1 week commitments. especially ulysses.

Karamazov. I enjoyed the HS standard Crime and Punishment, and I've heard good things about Karamazov.

4 hours a day isn't throwing yourself into a book. 16 hours a day is throwing yourself into a book...

How about The Stand (uncut version)?
