Wonder if Boner pissed off enough NY/NJ house members to not elect him? Heard it only takes 17.

He would most likely get it on subsequent votes.

Colin Powell got a vote.
I wonder why they keep calling Allen Wests name from Florida? Didn't he lose?

It's Boehner for the win.
Interestingly that Cantor didn't vote nor did Michelle Bachmann. At the end they called again those who didn't vote then when it was already in the bag for Boehner, Bachmann voted for him.
I didn't catch if Cantor voted for him before the end.

Oh, now I see. A handful of Republicans were voting for the wacko Allen West.

It was planned. They gave Boehner 220 of the 218 votes he needed. After the first roll, Boehner hadn't reached 218 so they went through the list again. The Republicans who were mute the first time around got him up to 220 and then the last guy simply voted 'present.'

A message to Boehner to remind him how weak he is.
