somehow i think this character is not in sync with the main storyline of the show, and i thought they made a mistake with this character. i guess they did their homework, huh. :)

edit - this new character sort of reminded me of that investor guy who continually forced house to fire one of the juniors (i guess first season). good that they got rid of that character.

yeah, that's what I was going to say. They need someone to challenge House, and it needs to be someone who can really cause him problems. It's hard for your average patient or hospital employee to do that.

underage stalker > cop

Don't you guys see where this is going?

The cop is going to get sick/shot, and House is going to save him - end of conflict. I think the obsessive chewing of nicotine gum is probably masking some symptoms of an illness the cop has.

They really do make his gum-chewing painfully obvious...

Wouldn't you act that way if someone left something in your butt?

I looked up the episode, the cop came in with some sort of rash or sore on his weiner. House blamed it on his gum, then swabbed it, but didn't get the lab test done. He also didn't get around to checking his temperature. ;) He's definitely got something - he'll probably have a seizure while giving House a cavity search.

A couple of you mentioned that underage stalker girl. Damn she was drop dead gorgeous!! Too bad that fizzled out after only a couple of episodes (but thank God for my TiVo:evil;)

that underage girl fizzles out but they 'kinda' explained it. Though living in california I dont remember too many underage horny girls after earthquakes.

I like the cop character since a lot of what makes house interesting is the character developments over episodes. It's kinda like real life where things happen to characters slowly, and while we watch House be an ass. his lackeys react and reveal something about himself... we see more and more of each character. I hope they have the cop push House, maybe even push him near the limit, but I think they'll have house win in the end (though the cop won't get totally screwed... although cuddy probably will just like when the investor pulled out of the hospital).

I just hop the cop doesn't become a full time fixture. Maybe most of this season? But he should back out at some point. The worst case would be the cop and house join forces and solve medical and criminal mysterious together while both being bullies. o_O

Dang, now I can't wait til next week x.x...this cop thing is driving me nuts, the guy just seems to pop up out of nowhere, act all calm, then totally pwn House like no tomorrow. Yet House breaking down and apologizing would totally ruin everything.

It was my impression that he was lying to her.

Has the show ever explained what charges this cop is going after House for? I mean searching his residence for what originally?

Retaliation after House treated the cop like a piece of dirt inserting a thermometer into his rectum.

In other words, this will end when the hospital lawyer calls the PD and it gets boiled down to a powertripping cop?

House will probably end up outsmartting the cop I'm guessing.

Unfortunately last night I chose L&O: CI over House. Huge mistake :(

I'm not against the cop character, but something about him doesn't match the flow of the other characters in past episodes. Then again, I didn't catch the beginning of that episode (when the cop character was introduced) and had to piece together what happened afterwards. As far as people saying the cop was brought in to challenge House, I can see it but I thought they were working on having one of his juniors function in that regard. Foreman seemed to have that function for a while and for some reason I just figured they would continue to escalate that behavior for that character.

I do like the aspect of House not being totally above the law and having his character deal with it, but I definitely don't want the cop to become a permanent character on the show. Temporary, sure fine. But there is something about the cop character when he shows up that I immediately become less interested in the scene and start getting distracted by things like my dog or cleaning off the coffee table. Can't quite put my finger on why that is though.

House was REALLY good last night. Probably the best episode so far this season.

Nah, I think he'll save the cops live after he (the cop) comes down with some horrifying and incredibly rare disease. House will be very sarcastic. ;)

from last nights episodes and what's happening with wilson, the cop character. was brought in to more or less reshape house. Before House seemed selfish and cared for no one. He is slowly being put on the spot that now its Wilson's entire career on the line. I felt it to be rather stupid attempt by them to do so.

House's underlyings act similarly to how they did when Chi McBride guest starred. Chase looks to be itching to tell everything. Cameron looks scared, worried and splits out whatever and Foreman be setting up for what he thinks is a way to gain power.

What surprises me is that they are all so stupid to talk to the cop without lawyering up. Why would Wilson allow the cop into his hotel room to question him. Same with the other 3. they know what's going on.

also Dr. Cuddy who weeks ago with all her thigns to do, seemingly finds out about that young girl that's attracted to House, yet is seeminly out of the loop with a cop that's roaming the hospital going into areas which are only for staff members, like the lab.

I hate the cop, his acting like an ass takes away from House being an ass, which is what makes the show so awesome. I just can't wait 'till they kill him off.
