nice political move, I think.
wonder if this was planned and Pelosi just kept it a secret surprise?
or spur of the moment improvisation when she saw how disorganized the Senate was?

and if the senate doesn't get their act together, this could drag on.
thus keeping 'Trump Impeached' in the headlines for longer times.

then again, why cant Moscow Mitch just forcibly set the Senate rules without Dem's input?

Wasn't that much of a surprise. It's been speculated that this would happen for days now due the the Senate making it clear the process will not be fair and impartial.

He sold out an American citizen to the whims of foreign prosecutors when no American prosecutor would’ve dared to make a case. For personal profit. If you can’t figure out why that’s wrong, maybe the problem is with you?

I hope Nancy keeps it going for as long as possible, I'm not looking forward to Trump's "I was exonerated" rallies tour.

Now this is some powerful wishful thinking.

im still waiting to hear what high crimes and misdemeanors trump committed.

They were detailed really clearly in multiple reports, can you tell us your confusion?

In short he used the powers of the presidency to have a foreign power investigate his domestic political enemies so that he could rig the 2020 election in his favor. That's about as clear a case of high crimes and misdemeanors as anyone could hope for, agreed?

Repeat after me:

The ask was illegal.
The ask was illegal.

It's kind of funny how their argument has been reduced to 'it's totally fine if the president asks foreign powers to investigate American citizens who are his political opponents'.

If Trump were in any other office than the presidency he would literally go to prison for that.

It's particularly poignant when they're going on about the biased FBI investigating poor Carter Page.

It was totally wrong of the FBI under the Obama administration to investigate Trump’s campaign. Clearly the right answer was to have the Ukrainians do it for him.

Correction, you are waiting for Trump to murder someone on live TV before deciding if he really is a criminal. All the other crimes he's committed apparently don't qualify.

Unless you extract your head, I doubt you will see any improvement in said hearing.

As has been explained to your kind many times, in detail, if Trump's behavior isn't impeachable then nothing is. Time to start caring about your country more than a conman and fraud luna.

He obstructed Congress by refusing to cooperate in the impeachment investigation. That's a high crime all by itself. Congress has the absolute Constitutional authority to investigative the executive at any time and for any reason it chooses to do so. Failure of the President to comply with Congress in this regard has Constitutional consequences, as we are seeing.

Yaknow, we get it that the rabidly partisan Republicans insist on turning the President into a King just because there's an R next to name, but We the People still believe in the Republic, democracy, and the entire Constitution, and we're not going to allow the Republicans to crown Donald the 1st no matter how much you want to, or how many lies you tell.

Only in what's left of your brain admitting crimes in public is a weak case.

Soliciting political dirt from a foreign country is a crime. Holding up Congressional approved funds until an investigation of Biden is announced makes it a high crime.

I'll use another example even you can understand. If Obama held up aid to Israel in 2016 until the Mousad got him a copy of Trump's pee tape that would be a high crime for the same reason.

Trump could murder a defenseless old lady on live TV, and the Republican media would spin a story that she deserved it because she had voted Democratic just once way back when she was in college.

They have been repeatedly listed for you. Is your claim that using the powers of the presidency to have foreign powers investigate American citizens who are your political opponents is not a high crime or misdemeanor?

There's a whole lot of spin here. What Pelosi said-

"We're not sending [the articles] tonight because it's difficult to determine who the managers would be until we see the arena in which we will be participating," said Pelosi, who was joined by the leaders of the six committees that led the House impeachment inquiry.
"So far, we haven't seen anything that looks fair to us, so hopefully it will be fairer, and when we see what that is, we'll send our managers," she said.

I figure she'll send it anyway if Mitch refuses to define the rules in advance. She won't play into the "weak case" narrative.
