Doing a quick and dirty search on RMLS.com I found 24 houses in Lane County which are single family residences, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, costing $80,000 - $100,000

If you want OUTRAGEOUS house prices, come up here to Portland ... :)

would you like some cheese with your whine? housing prices have a general tendency to increase. also, madison, wi is worse than euguene which doesn't make much sense since we're in the middle of nowhere.

I have been looking there (the outlaying areas) as well.
A few in and around Cottage Grove I could buy. And drive a hour to work everyday....

What's your budget?

What cities (list them all) and zip codes are you considering?

What's the minimum sq footage you would like?

Maybe 80K

Any towns within reasonable driving distance. Junction City. Coburg. Creswell. Harrisburg. Springfield. Veneta.

Don't really care what size, two bedrooms would be nice, and a garage and or shed. Must have it's own land!

You can tell I grew up in Philomath by what I consider outlying for Eugene :)

:D In the offer/counter-offer stage of buying our new home right now... Final price will be between 90 and 100K.

Farm:
House is 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, new kitchen, dining room, living room, and relatively new addition family room (with cathedral tongue and groove ceilings... beautiful)
Plus a very large barn in good shape
Plus a hangar type of garage... about half a basketball court inside (already has the basket in there)
Plus 5 or 6 car garage
40 acres of hardwoods, some of it excellent timber
65 - 70 acres of cropland (111 acres total)
pond, stream,
a couple of other small buildings, including a sugar shack (to make maple syrup.. they made 20 gallons 2 years ago)

I like to rub it in for the Californians in ATOT :)

Plus, during the cold winters, I'll probably have the windows open to keep the house from getting too hot.. Forced air wood furnace. Fire in a few logs a day and the house will be as toasty warm as I want it. The wood is, of course, free :) (well, maybe not this fall, too late to get cutting)

There are humans living in Oregon?

That's got to be worse than Nebraska! If that's possible...

You have got to be kidding me right?
You couldn't find a decent house in Eugene for 80k even 10 years ago.
There are very few places in the entire US that you can buy decent houses for 80k.
Eugene is much less expensive than a lot of other areas on the west coast.
My house in the Medford area would sell for 200 - 225k. Granted, it's a new house, but it's 3 bdrm 2 bath 1480 sq. ft.
