So if the president can have immunity the way Trump likes, why can't any office holder in gov't have the same "protections"? Why limit that "do as I please and never go to jail card" to the POTUS?

I mean, that's how ridiculously shallow and thoughtless Trump's reasoning is, although that "thinking" of his is consistent with his anti-democratic narcissistic point of view. His persistent drive for being a tyrant can be traced back to his desire to rig the gov't in such a way that fits his very limited (if any) abilities to lead a democracy. It's simply too complicated a job for his addled childish mind to handle. So his only recourse is to lead the nation as a dictator because it's the only way he'd be able to..... Make America Great for Himself.

That’s just it, it doesn’t appear he’s thought it through and he’s further empowering Biden if his arguments are successful. He’s too busy trying to save his pasty white ass. But odd Stephen Miller and the rest of his ghouls would take the risk or they hoping Biden won’t stoop to the orange monkey’s level?

This is just an extension of what Republicans always do. Any time Democrats talk about removing the roadblocks that Republicans abuse to logjam government while Democrats are in charge Republicans yell that if Democrats do that then they will weaponize it against them, and they will. But they never worry about that when they are in charge. They happily change the rules to suit them, and then change them a back right before they leave office. Why? Because they know that Democrats love America, while Republicans love power.

It is why the GOP goes around yelling about how much they love America.
Good people don't have to go around yelling about how good they are. They just show you.

It's so ridiculous, America was formed to get away from the absolute power of kings.

The new PBS Frontline documentary Democracy on Trial

This dives deeper into some crucial aspects of the Justice Department's case, The United States of America against Donald J. Trump, accusing him of insurrection. The January 6 Committee worked for over a year compiling tons in information that is absolutely the basis of Jack Smith's case. It's clear just how awful Powell and Flynn were.

I watched this last night. My favorite part is the extent to which they delve into the infamous phone call Trump (with many of his participants) made to the Georgia elections official Raffensberger. Usually you just see and hear Trump saying he just needs 11,570 votes. They show much more and it becomes clear that petulant Trump didn't give a damn what the facts were, he just wanted to win by any means necessary and he figured that if he pressed Raffensberger hard enough he would cave in, just like most of the people he'd been bullying and cajoling all these years.

Didn’t bother reading above article because I earlier watched their press conference. But lol the only had (at the time of their announcement) 63 cospounsors to their bill. Only a 1/3rd of the conference.

Trump’s crack legal team dropped the ball again, they missed the deadline to file an appeal with the Supremes on immunity in the Jan 6 civil trial!

I could be wrong, but I think that was for the Jan 6th 'civil lawsuits', not the criminal one.
