I'm currently in the process of buying a house in a private deal, so I dont have a real estate person handy to write me up the offer letter.

Just wondering if anyone has any links or anything on sample offer letters that I could plug my own information into for the bank?

I have all of the information such as plot, lot size, type, sq. footage, etc. etc. that I need, I just need to know what information they actually need (the bank) as well as the format to place it all in for this to work... :) Thanks!

I think Office Depot has some of those standard contract binding things that can be purchased for under $30. Cheaper than having a professional type something official up...

We made offers verbally but of course nothing was set in stone until a contract is signed between the two of you anyway. That's when you involve your lawyer. So I don't know why these offer letters really matter... it's not like it binds anyone to anything...

Reason I need to have an offer letter in writing to the bank is because as of right now, I only have a pre-approved mortgage. In order for the bank to turn it into a real mortgage they need a copy of the offer letter...

I was trying to avoid getting the lawyer involved in it to save any cash that I can but if thats who would best do it that is what I will do.

you should have a lawyer at your closing anyway... it will cost you somewhere around $1k for his/her services. That's how much he cost us for the entire buying process. There was no way we could've done everything he did... checking up on permits, CofOs... etc. and he explains every piece of paper you're signing at the closing. I suggest you don't skimp on the lawyer.
