House of Sand and Fog

I was flipping through the channels, and saw this movie was on. I didn't know the title till I looked it up afterwards. It has to be one of the most moving films I have ever seen. Few films bring me to tears (I can't even name others) but this movie made me tear up.

Thoughts?

Yeah she was attractive in this film. Tears only came when the father was praying that his son live...the love you could see he had for his son, was so deep and powerful...

I really enjoyed it too.
The film does a great job of making you empathize with both sides.

If you are the type who doesn't like attention to detail... This movie may not be for you.

yeah it was one of the few good movies to come out in a long time. better than seeing crap blow up all the time and some macho ego inflating arse run around the whole time.

Fantastic flick, Loved it really wanted to watch Slingblade but got vetoed by the wife. All day long she has been saying i told you it was a good movie. BITCH

OK, now I want to watch this.

How close was it to the book?

identical , from what I hear

the VERY end is slightly different in the movie (and better, IMHO) - you don't get the same amount of closure as you do with the book, but it seems to fit the whole mood of the movie better.

this is one of the few movies that actually does the book justice - the book is also extremely well written, and the overall writing style is very fluid and smooth. the book i'm reading now seems like it was written by a high schooler, in comparison...
