actually, in a deleted scene, alternate scene he does just that.

commentary even had the book author. thats rare.

I just watched it and really enjoyed it.

People have to be in the mood for this type of film. If not, they just go away feeling cheated.
I thought the main characters had great depth. We viewed different sides of them... some good, some bad.
This is a movie with detail throughout. Those that miss details won't "get it" later on. You don't have to take notes, but pay attention when watching.
