House of Cards: Season 3

DO WANT

Yeah good idea, gonna do this as well.
IIRC, Underwood got into the big house didn't he, at the end?

Spoilers, but yes.
In pretty brilliant fashion. Never even elected beyond his house whip position I believe.

How do you think Season 3 is going to end?

I'm hoping that Underwood ends up being assassinated by one of his old rivals like Raymond Tusk. Seems like poetic justice for a man with so many enemies.

It would be even better if his wife saw him dying on the side of the road and put him out of his misery like he did with the dog at the beginning of Season 1 😀

Might happen at the end of the Series, but I don't think season 3 will be the last, is it? I think he will go on to become President, or atleast get really close to it before dying. Even killing a VP is a big deal, don't Tusk will do it.

Um
he already is President

I wonder if it will end after season 3. The first two seasons were about his ascent
to the presidency, so what could the thrid season be about besides his fall?

Honestly I thought the series could have ended with season 2. From the trailer it seems like he won't fall he will just be furiously holding it together. 😀

I think they would have had to have left Stamper alive to do that, and killed the hooker instead (can't remember her name), but other than that, they probably could have ended it there, and it would have been a good ending. I'll have to watch the trailer.

Uhhm....Season 2
did not end with death. Sure, Stamper is shown on the ground after getting hit with a rock...but he could simply be unconscious.

I vaguely remember someone doing an interview with Kevin Spacey about season 3 awhile back, and he said the he thought that his character was going to meet a tragic end.

Of course, he's not the writer of the show but I'm sure that he has plenty of pull on what happens to his character.

If he dies, so does the series.

He's not the writer, but he is the executive producer.

Very excited. Having watched the entire BBC original, I'm pretty sure I know the gist of this season. Still looking forward to it. Season 1 was better than 2 though, in my view

For those that want to know how S3 will end :

Unless they drastically want to change the source material, which they haven't so far, the original UK series was a multi-season affair, and ended with :

Frank's wife setting him up to be killed in order to preserve his/her reputations from revelations regarding his previous crimes, he is assassinated by a sniper. For the US version, this will be done using Meechum

So if this is true, then this is the last season, which sucks. But I guess he can't climb any higher anyway.

Not necessarily. Most executive producers are just figureheads, they get the credits to pad their resume and ego, not to actually run the creative direction of the show. They have actual producers that do that.

There also could have been deals made when the material was optioned from the original series. They might be limited in how far Frank Underwood is allowed to differ from Francis Urquhart. While the details will surely differ it's reasonable to assume that the US series will end kind of similarly to the UK series. Frank is not going to waltz off into the sunset as the king of the universe, one way or another he's got to pay.
