What is perhaps most amazing is the fact that we are monitoring communications methods that our terrorist enemies have long ago abandoned simply because there is a remote possibility that they can be intercepted. And its an already known fact that Al-Quida uses human couriers and to a certain extent internet websites that hide in plain sight. And its almost impossible for any to guess that if a photographed picture of some pooh bah is wearing a red turban, that it may be a signal.

And I don't know about you, but I don't exactly feel safer to see our government wasting tons of money to know all about my Aunt Betty's upcoming bake sale. When that same money could be used to harden our infrastructure. Or not totally wasted in the first place. And need I remind you our government has been monitoring terrorist chatter long before GWB was elected. And that the days preceding the 911 attack marked somewhat of a low point in chatter.

When we anger everyone by violating their privacy rights, you still have to ask are we gaining ANYTHING in return. When that answer is a resounding NO, we really should be wondering about our own insanity. But will only learn the real answer when terrorists again attack----and the domestic proponents of domestic spying tell us---see you did not allow us enough ability to engage in domestic spying. And jerks like me will still be pointing out the emperor wears no clothes.

Who's monitoring the government? Who's keeping it in check? It's certainly "NOT" the people...

Our government is so out of control and corrupt yet... No one really cares... Let's just spend the $$!!! And...the band plays on...
