Okay... so now that the semester is over I can attend to some crap that's been building up around the bathroom area. There's mold and mildew. How do I get rid of it? Like, are there any special cleaners or things I should be aware of? How can I prevent them from coming back in the future?

Thanks for the help.

You need better air circulation to prevent mold/mildew in the future. Keep the window/door open and the ventilation fan on.

Why must people always ask? Bleach is damn near the answer to everything cleaning related, especially in the bathroom or kitchen.

1. Get an old empty spray bottle.

2. Place 1/2 cup of bleach in the bottle.

3. Now add 2 cups of water.

4. Cover any areas that you don't want bleach spots on with newspaper or plastic.

5. Spray the area you want to remove the mold and mildew.

6. Go away for 15 minutes. Check when you return to see if it is completely gone. If not, wait another 15 minutes. Do this until all the mold is gone

first, get rid of the dust and dirt by wiping it up. clean everything up as well as you can. then use bleach. to prevent it from coming back, clean and use bleach more often.
