It may be that I frequent this forum more than some others or still have some memory cells left.
However, Punch was used by my daughter two years ago to design her home that she built out in Maryland. she gave the design to a General Contractor and he took it from there.
This S/W was purchased for girl #2 in 2001 and passed on to girl #1 who took 2 years to get what she wanted.
Some S/W packages will actually generate blueprints.
Most packages under $100 that you can get from Best Buy, etc will give you a good feeling for the layout(s). Each has their UI quirks and enhancements.
It would be best to 30 mintues reading the boxes to compare features.
