House considers removing 9/11 security measures

There are ~1.6B muslims, and I'm pretty sure that at least a few hundred thousand of them are every bit as dangerous as the political prisoners originally held at Gitmo.

The whole thing was fabricated for domestic political purposes, pandering to idiots like you.

You are the one choosing to live in a fantasy world of single-mindedness, zero-tolerance everything, which never works. Guantanamo Bay wasn't created for domestic political purposes, it was created for national security purposes. They don't go around rounding up political fanatics like you and throw them into Gitmo, otherwise they would be no better than the IRS, for which you so fervently blindly advocate no consequences for the selective targeting based on the basis of politics. The government rounds up an extremely minor portion of the population of the planet that poses a significant threat to any society in which they live, and those abroad.

You act as though Guantanamo Bay is something new, like the newest adventure in your vision quest of the infinitely stupid, while you ignore that there has always been something similar to Guantanamo Bay in our history, perhaps not as a facility, but the same things going on -- and for a good reason. How do you think the government has always gotten their information out of assets the with which the public largely need not concern themselves? With some tea and crumpets over a nice conversational setting in a den? No, they get it by any means necessary in very specific circumstances involving national security.

Some people have information critical to saving lives that they refuse to share, yet you have no problem with them not sharing it so long as their rights don't get violated. In this case, you wish to sacrifice untold thousands - millions to fulfill some sort of silly advocacy -- for 154 people of which 48 are deemed too dangerous to ever be released. Sorry, but that is not the way the world works: if you are a target highly likely to have information about or participation in large causes that have no other reason to exist other than to kill us or harm us in other ways, your rights will be violated when necessary.

Coming from the guy that non-stop advocates for blind political party affiliation in ignorance of the facts in every single thread you enter, and further advocating the release of extremely dangerous people who are being held because their sole purpose is to wage religious jihad to kill you, or have such related information beyond a reasonable doubt, I am pretty confident that I am not the idiot.
