This is one of the most disgusting hypocritical post I've read in a while. You don't really give a damn about "rights" if you did you wouldn't post this garbage.

Bullshit. I don't give a damn about the rights of terrorists or those committing treason. Spin your sensationalist bullshit on other terrorist sympathizers. Join the other trolls on ignore, fuckwad.

I didn't know Guantanamo was still open. I guess it was just another broken promise on a bullet list for Obama. I'm glad, though, because it should stay open, and people with information related to terrorists should be subjected to whatever is necessary for safety.

The only thing that needs to be repealed is any homeland security /TSA bullshit, and any restrictions / hindrances on our citizens. I think those are obviously the most ineffective and inefficient, and tend to trample on our rights. Anything affecting non-citizen terrorists, or citizen terrorists should remain enacted.

You confuse the accused with the convicted, the sole point of a great deal of authoritarian propaganda, and the sole point of the gitmo facility in the first place. If there were sufficient non-tainted evidence to try detainees, it would have been done long ago.

Could you please tell me how many of those being detained at Gitmo are convicted terrorists?

Or do you believe in rights up until the .gov decides to accuse you of being a terrorist and at that point the accused should have no rights, including no right to defend his or herself in a court or refute the charges?

Bottom line is you can only stand on one side of this argument.

GITMO needs to close and all convicted terrorists need to be shot by firing squad. As Rumsfeld once said at a press conference, "these guys would gnaw throgh the hydraulic lines of an aircraft."

As far as TSA goes there needs to be an improvement like common fucking sense. We can't get rid of the TSA all together . That is just fucking stupid. We could take a lesson from Israel and fly plain clothes Marshall's on board all aircraft. Currently, Marshals are wearing a uniform suit which is fucking stupid!

Common sense reforms people!

Bullshit. The very existence of the prison at Gitmo is a cancer upon our Justice System & an affront to the ideas of Freedom, due process & fair play. It's an albatross strung around our necks by men who yearn to be tyrants. Anybody who believes it to be right is a fool who invites the same treatment for himself.

I'll say the same thing Trollercaust offered- that the whole right wing position on Gitmo oozes hypocrisy. Freedom cannot be defended with the tools of tyranny.

Now what?

So says how much Government are you willing to give up?

Can we say the TSA is gone? That's a no brainer.

If we want to get rid of anything, lets start with a flat tax and abolish the IRS. Lets have common sense reforms and abolish the EPA or at least shrink them. The feds are constantly hammering on energy and production while China, India and other developing nations can pollute all day long. Point I'm making is that there is a lot and I mean a lot of fat to trim and we must exercise common sense when doing it. When you have tax laws up the ass and they are/were going after tea party and conservative groups you have a failed system. When you have the EPA going after a guy who built a pond on his properity you have a failed system. Government is way out of control in this, the 21st century and the abuse is broad. The EPA failed to say the air was bad at ground zero FFS!

The TSA? Well, they have issues too, but by in large they do us a service so you don't get blown up or your loved ones get blown up in the air.

We could trim the NSA and create reforms as well. I don't mind them tapping into foreign countries, but when it's the U.S citizen they have crossed the line!

Say that when there's Marshal Law. Not putting in jail those that are on a so-called a holy war. Do you sympathize with America's enemies? Do you pray to mecca four times a day and are indoctrinated by extremest radical Islamic ideals? If you scream death to America you are an enemy.

Uhhh, let's start by staying on topic instead of laying out every astroturfed right wing lament you can come up with, OK?

You fucking moron. If you're going to rave about martial law, at least learn how to spell it.

You're just a different flavor of irrational jihadist who believes that the ends justify the means.

I will not shut the fuck up when human rights are clearly violated by prisoning people to concentration camps with no just and fair trial. The ones prisoned have no say, no way to defend themselves against obvious tyranny and trampling of freedom. I will not shut the fuck up.

This has certainly increased since the militarization of the police since 9/11.

It's an albatross strung around our necks by men who yearn to be tyrants. Anybody who believes it to be right is a fool who invites the same treatment for himself.

Guantanamo Bay only has 154 prisoners in it according to Wikipedia. How many people are in Guantanamo without trial versus how many people have been wrongly convicted, or, even, unfairly sentenced to extreme terms after a trial in our justice system? I'm not going to waste my time looking it up, but we all know that number is going to be substantially higher than the 154 figure currently in Guantanamo Bay. That is a pretty small price to pay considering the amount of deaths that can be prevented. The government does not just arbitrarily send people to Gitmo, and people do actually get released if they are deemed not a threat.

The shitheads that get sent to Guantanamo Bay get sent there for a reason. They have been held because they are likely to have critical information that can save lives, or they are organizers that would recruit thousands of people in a holy jihad against us or others. The federal government has a single purpose: national security. Taking away the few tools they have to increase national security for 154 terrorists, enemy combatants, crazed lunatics, or people with an incredible likelihood of connection to such folks pledging or spreading death on a wide scale to our citizens -- and those of other countries -- is foolish.

Gitmo or some other place like it will always need to be around. National security trumps rights in some instances, and this is one of them.

How many have been released and how many have received a fair trail and a sentence? Exactly. It's a fucking disgrace. You are a fucking shithead. A fucking wise and beautiful woman who gives a fuck about freedom. You bastard would rather trample freedom than give up your sense of safety. You are a hypocrite wise and beautiful woman.

Total bullshit. The Republic did just fine w/o places like Gitmo for 200 years.

There are ~1.6B muslims, and I'm pretty sure that at least a few hundred thousand of them are every bit as dangerous as the political prisoners originally held at Gitmo.

The whole thing was fabricated for domestic political purposes, pandering to idiots like you.

Lets just release all the GITMO prisoners and let them live in the houses of those who say that GITMO is tyranny.
