I noticed this too, first ep has a sepia tone + bloom. The tone is somewhat different as well. Pilots always tend to be different from the main series

Every House episode...

Two people.... One is about to do something stupid that will undoubtedly end them up in the hospital but... the other person has a seizure/barfs blood/blacks out//etc and ends up in the hospital. House gets the case. Initially he ignores his team's input but eventually takes one person's advice and it's wrong. House eats Wilson's food. Two of House's lackeys go to the patients home to find mold/chemicals/cats. They think they know the cause but after an MRI they find they we wrong. House solves the disease but it's the false ending and the patient just gets worse. Everyone is clueless. House is doing some mundane thing and the camera zooms to his face -- he knows what it is based on the clues of the thing he was doing. Despite Cutty's wishes they drill a hole in the patients head and cure him/her.

Parts of season 1 and 2 did this.

The very first episode/pilot was all screwed up in tone and color.

As of season 3 none of these issues seem present.

I really disagree. This season and a lot of last season I don't like nearly as much as the earlier ones. Before it was mainly about diagnosing weird & interesting diseases, with a little bit of the personal stories of the characters going on in the background. Now it seems like it's largely about the characters and their personal lives and drama, with a bit of disease detective work going on. It's just gotten way too soap opera-like for me. Not to say that I don't still watch it, but I prefer the older episodes.

That's because it's a show with one of the most interesting characters. The medical stuff is completely irrelevant when you are dealing with someone like House.

I agree that the characters are interesting, House especially. But I always felt like House was such a neat show because of the really crazy diseases that they would come up with and finally be able to figure out in such interesting ways. The characters personalities would come out while they were solving these problems and made the entire situation even more interesting and entertaining to watch. More recently it just seems like any other drama though, albeit with interesting characters.

This is one of the reasons I didn't watch anything past the pilot episode. The visuals of that episode drove me nuts. Like there were filming in a dungeon with the white balance shifted too warm and green. Of course I got hooked on it later via USA Network reruns.

Shamelessly stolen from one of the other fucking billion House threads because to this day this shit still stands.

Seriously. My previous rant on House doesn't even do it justice. My girlfriend decided to watch this retarded Marathon so I had the excruciating pleasure of being forced to submit myself to the mindless retarded over-dramatic bullshit that is this show.

When they fucking broke into that guys house and found a bloody t-shirt hidden in a fucking vent and then approached the guy saying they found a bloody t-shirt in his house and they needed to call CPS on him, the dude gets all sob story saying he'd never hurt his children.

Want to know what a RATIONAL fucking person's reaction would have been? WHY THE FUCK DID YOU JUST COMMIT A FELONY OF BREAKING INTO MY HOUSE AND THEN ADMITTING IT? Go ahead and call CPS, I'll have a lawsuit on your ass and get you both thrown in jail so fast your PHfuckingD heads will still be spinning when they slam the gate closed.

Jesus christ. Every fucking House episode is the same shit. First 45 minutes of constant misdiagnoses, typically accompanied by a) IS IT LUPUS? b) Zomg he's peeing blood. c) lets break into this d00ds house and analyze all his shit for evidence, we're CSI NOW DAWG. Usually a patient dies a few times due to mistreatment and magically survives or reincarnates themselves or some bullshit to be cured within the last 10 minutes so House can go strut around like a cocky motherfucker and get his Vicadin refilled.

Ridiculous. If this is the kind of garbage we consider entertainment I'm glad I have the fucking internet.

/rant .

ROFL that's awesome. Not a big fan of the show personally. Sadly the Kumar guy can't save it for me either. I just don't buy the drama and the humor isn't there, then again I don't like Scrubs either.. maybe it's a Hospital thing.
