HOTTTT!! TWO Maxtor 40GB 7200RPM HDDs for $70 AR @ Staples!

Staples has the 40GB for $79.95 - $30 rebate. Buy two to make the total $160, use the $30 off $150 coupon, and two $30 rebates to bring it down to $70!!! GREAT FOR RAID!
btw you will need two addresses for this deal to work for you, since it's one rebate per household.
have 4 addresses to play with? stripe 4 of them 😀
40GB @ Staples

Am I not reading this right? Wouldn't it be

$160-$30 (30 off 150) - 2x$30 (2 $30 rebates) which makes it $70 for 2 hd's?

Getting both rebates is definitely YMMV because if you are buying both at the same time, to use the coupon, both drives will be on the same invoice. If these are like any other Staples invoices, it will clearly have your name and address on the invoice. So I don't think getting two rebates is as easy as you make it seem.

staples packs an invoice and a packing list...
so just use one packing list one for one rebate
and the other invoice for the other rebate

pretty nice deal, its hard to get small cheap hds now a days.

I've seen 40gb drives on sale for $30AR on a few occassions in the past few months. They're commonly on sale for $40AR. I think both beat having to buy 2 and deal with an iffy second rebate just to get them for $35AR each.

By the way, these Maxtors are DiamondMax Plus 8 drives: one platter drives with FDB motor drive. Compact size, and very quiet (27dB idle/29dB seek). Enabling AAM makes the seeks even quieter, although they're almost inaudible with AAM off already.

i think the point is... if they see 2 hard drives on the same invoice... it'll make it difficult

why? different addresses on each rebate, the rebate person could just assume that the other one is not getting a rebate on it.

unless you explicitly need 2 drives for under $80 bux, why not just get a single 160gb for $89.95AR at frys or 120gb for even less at either office supply store

I bought two in the store and used a 30 off 150 coupon..

Nice thing about instore is they print up seperate rebates and receipt for each one..😀

I'm going to put them in raid 1.5 on my DFI Pro875 and run the OS off them..
Then use my two 20 8mb SATA WD's for games and storage
