Here is the LINK. 42 left as of 11:08PM CT.

They don't tell you the Rev level so we can't tell if it's the latest.

btw..that board has 3(yes three) usb controllers. My uncle just built a new pc with this board(helping him set up software on the phone now). He has the 2 usb ports on the board, 2 with a bracket on the back, and 2 in the front that came with his case. Should take quite a while to fill all those. Btw..this is a really good price, hell, I tought it was a really good price when my uncle picked a new one up at newegg for 80.

Got me one of those... need to upgrade my server box from a k6-2 350mhz... figured this is a good start... now, just a cheapo cpu and memory... :)

BTW, looking around the net, overclockerz actually has cheaper DDR Ram than Crucial for 512MB sticks... PC2400 no less... :)

I was going to post this deal but was still looking up some info to decide if I should get it...

Anyways, it appears there was a revision 2.0 which is based on KT266,
but is there also a revision 3.0 *AND* 3.1 or just 3.1? I can't seem to find any info on a revision 3.0. Are there any OTHER revisions?
Just trying to narrow down the possible revisions that might be received if ordering one from New Egg.. It says KT266A so I can eliminate the revision 2.0 board.

just a follow-up... you may want to reconsider getting a via kt266a-based motherboard if you do audio/video editing or use high-performance SCSI drives or will use ATA/133. I've been reading numerous posts on several websites such as viaarena.com (from there you'll find links to other sites that have users reporting this) as well as on google about with PCI and IDE bandwidth-related problems with kt266a and via chipsets in general. Just do a search for "KT266a" AND "latency" to read about it.

There's a patch on several sites including viahardware.com to sort of address this issue, but it is not an official patch from VIA but rather from a user,
and it doesn't fully address the issue.

Anyways, perhaps it may not be worth the headache going with VIA... SIS745-based motherboards are going to pop up soon, and newegg is supposed to have the K7S6A listed for a low $69 but it's not in stock yet.

Great deal on a nice board.

BTW I thought I saw a review of this ram tested against the crucial ram and the crucial OCed better? anyone else see that review?

Can't recommend this deal.

I've had several of the refurb AK31A's ... all DOA or very shortly thereafter.

Besides the faulty VIA core logic, it has a host of other issues ... voltage regulation troubles ... and don't even think about populating all 4 DIMM slots. You can't. At least, not if you want it to be stable :)

I've not seen that particular review, but someone posted a "deal" from the Overclockerz store for a board and PC3000 memory and later posted a warning when it wouldn't pass a test even at 133/266Mhz. here is the thread.

SO I should not order this? All the reviews at newegg priased it. But the review I found at Tom's Hardware claimed it to be lackluster. This board is only $59 shipped so, is it worth a shot??? So what is up with the soltek??? Is that good board???

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

<< so refurb==barebone?
no cables, driver and manual?
That will be hard.
>>

I sure drivers and manuals can be downloaded somewhere off the web. As for cables, what kind of a hardcore anandtecher wouldn't have spare cables laying around??

lol:p

Everything in NewEgg's refurb section is labeled OEM and barebones. Most are not but you don't know what you will get because it depends on the person that returned the item to NewEgg. I recently ordered a DFI AK76-SN refurb MB and it came with everything. I also ordered a S370 refurbed MB but they stated in the original description that it was OEM so I didn't expect anything but a board and that's all I received. You will probably receive eveything that comes with retail but there is no guarantee.
