hottie from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon...

I'll be the first to say this film is only good and was overhyped...

madcute, that sums up the entire film

If it was as good as the hype I would have left the theater thinking that was the best film of 2000.
Nope
It was a good kungfu-romance film, but not as good as "Traffic" for one.
What irks me is this:
Outrating Lost Ark? 🙁 quite disappointed with the people voting @ imdb.

I think that Princess Mononoke was a better movie than "Bent Over Tiger, Horny Dragon"... That movie left me thinking about the movie and life, wheras the latter left me with very little except a slight smile at the flying people.

I'm with uncouth on this one. Good movies are those that make an impact on you. Some strike your emotions, humour, love, pitty, others trigger action, inspire you to change your life, etc. Crouching tiger was empty. Like Cast Away it was well shot and acted, but simply made no impact on the viewer.

I left in the same state of mind as a came, only with 7 dollars less. Mind you this is based on my personal observations. Full review soon to come @borism.net

I completely agree, and I left the theater blown away by Crouching Tiger...it had a huge impact on me.

To each his/her own, but I thought it was the best movie of the year.

"CT, HD" was really fine. My g/f loved it and raved it up. It was drenched in the magic of the movies in it's ability to take you places you've never been and show you things you've never seen. If you weren't moved by it, it's probably cuz you've [fill in appropriate flame]. I'm sure you would've enjoyed it more if it was a Jet Li macho chop-socky film w/o a plot or emotions.

"Traffic" was a good movie, but certainly NOT the greatest pic of the year. Critics are really starved for anything to rally around.

Another good movie I was surprised by was "The Family Man". Nic Cage actually kept on the leash and it was an interesting story.

Yea, I think she is really cute. I told my parent's that and my dad was like, thats why Chinese are ALWAYS better looking. (We are Chinese BTW 😀)...
