Blimey Mate that would fry the dingos allrightee!

I think you are off a little.

You're talking like those people whose toilets spin backwards.

My toilet doesn't spin at all. You should tighten the bottom more securely.

And yes, I am being sarcastic. You mean their flush goes down counter-clockwise

Their flush does not go down counterclockwise. That's a myth.
Perhaps not, but I'm pretty sure our Cyclones spin in the opposite direction to your Hurricanes and Typhoons (or whatever you call them up in the Northern Hemisphere).

And 100F is about 40C, right? That's nothing. Come down here to Australia, in the middle of the summer. You'll be cooked alive.

The hottest temperature recorded in Britain since records began was 38.1C (100.6F) on Monday 11th August, 2003. The 36C (97F) you are referring to is the hottest day in July on record, and yes, that's way above normal ie in the 20's C.

A big part of their problem is likely that (because it's not normally that hot) they don't have A/C everywhere. England hitting close to 100 would be like southern Alaska hitting 100.......wouldn't you think that was hot??

I know I don't live in the hottest place in the country, or the world, but man I'm looking forward to the break in temps they're promising this weekend! Last 2 days it's hit 109, today's temps they're guesstimating will be 108-112, and tomorrow they're forcasting a solid 112!!!

That's not fit for man nor beast! Still, I have to wonder how the first person that walked into the area where Phoenix or Las Vegas now sits was able to stop, look around, and proclaim, "This looks like a good place to settle down!!"

For LV's case, there was an oasis there -- a spring of water and a green spot in the desert. Later, gold was found in the region (never really panned out to be much) and a railroad came though.

I'd bet it was similar for Phoenix.
