Hottest Day Ever Recorded in Britain?

Seriously now, there are always a few summer days over 100, almost everywhere you go in North America. How is it that 96.6 is the hottest they've ever had?

92F I heard. But they aren't really prepared for it.

Even here in the Boston area where it's only very hot maybe 1mos a year, almost everyone has a/c so we take it for granted.

Blimey Mate that would fry the dingos allrightee!

I think you are off a little.

You're talking like those people whose toilets spin backwards.
Especially since most of that continent he's thinking of is desert too.

My toilet doesn't spin at all. You should tighten the bottom more securely.

And yes, I am being sarcastic. You mean their flush goes down counter-clockwise

It was 107 the other day here... That is way north USA. The factory I work in was 115 that day. I would beg for 96 degree temps.

Their flush does not go down counterclockwise. That's a myth.

Perhaps not, but I'm pretty sure our Cyclones spin in the opposite direction to your Hurricanes and Typhoons (or whatever you call them up in the Northern Hemisphere).

And 100F is about 40C, right? That's nothing. Come down here to Australia, in the middle of the summer. You'll be cooked alive.

I was in London for the hottest day they ever had before this day happened (3 years ago I think), and they were NOT ready for it at all. The hotel A/C's couldn't even deal with it, people weren't daring to go outside, water was short, etc. So they're clearly not ready for weather like that.
