Hotmail password reset

I don't know what my dad did to his Hotmail account, but there's somethign wrong. When I try to sign in, he gets:

Sign in failed.
You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect e-mail address or password, or someone else is trying to sign in to the account xxx@hotmail.com.

So I click on "Sign In Again" and get the following:

Your account is temporarily unavailable
You've tried to sign in too many times to this account. A temporary delay helps prevent people from trying to guess your password.

Click Cancel and sign in later, or reset your password now.

If I try to reset the password, I'm only given the option to "reset the password by e-mail" which is completely useless because you need to have access to the account. There used to be a page where you would answer your secret question, but I can't find it!

First thing I would do is remove his actual email address from this forum!

The "password by email" is meant to use an alternate email address, not the Hotmail address.

You then only need to wait until the timeout is up
