Hotmail issues with Netgear MR814 ??

Hey guys...

A friend just set up a home network with the Netgear MR814, but now he can't get into Hotmail at all. MSN Messenger seems to run fine, but he can't get to his mail. I'm also about to use this wireless router on another friend's system, so I'd like to go ahead and head these problems off. Any tips, or do you know which specific ports to check?
 
Turn off the firewall in the software that automatically loads, or put in the hotmail address as an allowed site.
