Haven't used Hotmail's web interface in several years. If you use any sort of stand alone mail client, look into using some sort of POP3 or IMAP application to connect to Hotmail.

Not only that, when you use outlook, it make you sign on to hotmail.com to "verify" your accounts

Yeah, hotmail is a pain. Been trying to talk the wife out of using it for some time now. She is finally ready to listen to me when she had some paperwork emailed to her for her masters thesis, so she downloaded the attachments and did what she needed to. She kept the email in her inbox and went to download the attchments on my laptop three days later and hotmail wouldn't let her because it said the attachments had a virus when it scanned them. Funny that 3 days ago they didn't have a virus and all they have done is sat on their freaking server!
