Hotmail / Cortana / Win10 adds spam to calendar automatically?

Looks like Microsoft / Cortana / Windows 10 automatically added this spam message to my calendar.

My old Hotmail address is my Windows 10 Microsoft account. Gmail periodically pulls all messages from the Hotmail account via POP and that original message from "dobbsagnesikui@gmail.com" was correctly sorted as "Spam" in Gmail.

I haven't used Hotmail in years due to all the spam. Your post honestly made me laugh. How ridiculous. One great reason to NOT havery the OS take care of everything. I'll stick with Outlook, thanks.

I also have Win10 tied to my hotmail account and have never experienced this. I don't have win10 tied to my hotmail account then tied to a gmail account though. I've also never had win10 add items too my calendar via hotmail either. Is this something you have too enable or should it happen by default?

Hey, I was getting this too, and found this post by googling this email address. I discovered today that you can just go into Google's Calendar (https://calendar.google.com/calendar/), select the event and Report Spam, and it'll delete all of them. Hope this helps.
Probably not relevant since the event never ended up in my Google calendar. The Hotmail calendar is tied to the Win8/10 calendar. I don't use the calendar anyway. I just noticed the notification and investigated. I already looked for a "report spam/junk" option in the Hotmail calendar and found nothing.

I don't recall ever enabling such a thing. I don't use the Hotmail or Windows 10 calendars anyway. My guess: This probably happens when you enable Cortana and give it access to everything in your Microsoft account. I think Cortana is trying to be helpful.

Hotmail? What year is this?
I use Gmail for at least 10 years now. My Hotmail account is one of those that simply will not receive some important emails, like registration/activation emails. It still happens even when all junk mail filtering is disabled. Those missing messages don't go to Junk/Spam. They just never arrive at all. After tolerating that for many years (I had Hotmail before it was Microsoft), I finally just abandoned Hotmail and never looked back. Forwarding to Gmail helped with the transition. I never had the missing messages problem with Gmail. The way Gmail handles conversations and labels (instead of messages and folders) is vastly superior.

Well I guess I was wrong about hotmail adding events to my calendar. We just booked a hotel room in Mason Ohio because we are planning a trip to Kings Island in July. I have an email from Outlook calendar stating it added an event for those dates. I flipped through to July and sure enough on the dates there are entries.

I have never had this happen before. I will keep a closer eye on this especially if it starts adding dates for spam like Ichinisan mentioned in his op.

EDIT:It appears there is an option in your hotmail settings to disable linking events to your calendar. I went ahead and disabled it and will keep an eye on it.
