Hotkeys have taken over my Vista desktop!

Every once in a while, my keyboard in Vista stops being usable. Ie, typing the letter g will show my desktop. It's really annoying, and so far I haven't been able to fix it except by rebooting.

As far as I can tell, stick keys are disabled.

It typically happens after running Virtualbox, so I'm thinking it may be related to the host key, which is the left ctrl key. It's very annoying, anyone have an idea of what it could be or how to fix it?

Bad keyboard? Try a different keyboard. About the only thing you can do is replace the keyboard since it's uneconomical to repair the keyboard.

If the keyboard is easy to open, try opening it (make sure you keep an eye on what screws/parts go where) and then seeing if maybe there is a stuck key due to some gunk that got in. Clean and then completely dry the keyboard and see if that helps.

It only happens after a while of using the computer though, and seemingly randomly. It fixes itself after a reboot.

Well, try the keyboard on a different keyboard is another option to see if it's bad. The only way to conclusively say for sure is either try a new keyboard on your current computer exhibiting the issues or try the keyboard on a different computer.
