Hexus reviewed it as well: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=4210

Same story, not a bad showing, and it seems to overclock well (Hexus tested at 4.27 Ghz on air). It's still hot though ( link ), which is surprising considering that it is a .65 part.

But, it is an EE version which equals Extremely Expensive or Extremely Exclusive (rare). Lets see how the "bread and butter" versions make out.

This is not a terribly impressive showing for the EE, seeing as how it is currently nothing more than a paper-launched CPU and that its still losing a lot of real-world benchmarks to the X2 4800+ that has been out for months.

The heat output should come as no surprise. Netburst is Netburst. Presler is nothing more than a stopgap to hold Intel customers over until Conroe and Merom are out, so don't expect too much from this thing.

Remember everyone this is the same person who stated his 1.8ghrtz PIV Willamette encoded faster than his 1.8ghrtz AMD64 3000+.

According to my sources, AMD's FX-60 and move to DDR2 will slaughter Intel
No wonder AMD didn't feel pressured with a 65nm move. This is pathetic by Intel. Where is Yonah on the desktop! A 65nm part using as much power at idle as the competitors 90nm chip at full load is pretty sad.

Priceless. Well, you gotta give fatty credit for having a persistent sense of humour.

Just speculating here, but any one think its strange that Intel isn't giving the speed bumps to dual core processors when obviously they could have?
Any one here agree with me that we could see Conroe hitting the shops at the same, if not higher clocks than Presler?
If you think about it, reports have it that Yonah was downclocked from 2.5Ghz to 2.16Ghz at launch, with power being the motive, but surely this would mean that if Yonah itself could clock that high, then a desktop bound version with a slighlty longer pipeline and a relaxed TDP could make it to the 3Ghz+ range at launch?
Any one with me here?

Not me. If you want an educated guess as far as Yonah (it's future clock speeds) and Conroe (it's launch clock speed) are concerned, read AT's very own Yonah preview part II page 2. What has been written there makes much more sense.
