Hotels in cancun

anybody have any pointers on a decent hotel for the money for a trip to Cancun?

Mexican 5 star is the MINIMUM you should aim for. I was at Playa del Carmen last summer (my wife's idea, not mine) which is like the newer development south of Cancun.

make SURE you get all inclusive, unless you like paying up the nose for food just about everywhere.

i went in summer 07 and stayed at the Krystal Cancun, it was awesome.

my wife and I (and some friends) want to go back and we plan on going there again. the 7th and 8th floors are like the "suites" or something, not sure exactly but they were a little more than the other rooms, and they were very nice, and include this free wine and cheese bar every night up near the roof top, and you can actually go out on the roof top after as well.

it is also RIGHT in the mix of EVERYTHING. we walked to the clubs and bars whenever we went out, no need for a cab. only place we needed a bus for was going to Senior Frogs, which sucked ass anyways, don't go there. It's an american bar in Mexico. there are MUCH better places to go to.

i also strongly am against all inclusive because there is so much more to see than staying in your hotel the whole time.

i strongly recommend that place to stay, i have a ton of pics at home as well.

Yeah, my liqour bill would of been at least 300-400 dollars.
