Do hotels charge by the person or is it a flat fee up to a certain number of people?

Just sneak the person in through the back entrance.

That only works at those $29 a night shacks. :p

I've gotten away with it at an $88 a night shack. :)

Besides, it doesn't sound like the OP is looking at checking into a Hilton.

Generally the only hotels that care how many people are those cut rate motels, not hotels like the Hyatt, Hilton, or Marriott. Generally you only pay extra for a roll-a-way bed if needed.

Usually 2-adults is one price, if you add more adults they may $10/head additional charge. And yes, when you book your room ask for two doubles. Then 4-adults can sleep comfy and sneak the other two through the front door after the first two have checked into the room and brought the bags up.

ask for a room for 2 with seperate beds, you can have 4 people in the room sleep comfortably, if you don't mind sharing a bed.

more if people pile on the floor.

hotels normally charge by the room and then an additional fee for each person.

a 3 persopn room with 2 full size beds costs a little less than a 4 person room with the same 2 full size beds, but sometimes they give you 2 queen sizes
