i come here looking for hot deals on computer parts and accessories. there's a lot of stuff posted that has nothing to do with computers though. for instance, at any given time i can see ads for sunglasses, pens, bar-b-ques, and toasters. i'm having trouble making a connection with those items and computers.

kamaboko,

From the replies in this thread, it is clear that most members disagree with you, and your posts attempting to make your point are annoying others.

Now, we will make our point. If you do not like what you find in our Hot Deals forum, do not go there. If you do not like what you find on the rest of our forums, visit sites that provide what you are looking for. In other words, stop the crap, or go away.

If you cannot accept the first option, we can enforce the second one. It is your choice.

Honestly, the hot deals forum is for any hot deals. I don't see the problem with other items that are not computers.

Post the hottest prices and deals you've found on the net in the AnandTech Hot Deals forum. Please stick to deals you've found, not items you are seeking. This is NOT a shopping service. No dealers and no SPAM (IE: multi-level marketing, pay-to-surf, pay-for-referral schemes or links to auctions) allowed! Please DO NOT POST COUPON NUMBERS or PROMOTIONAL CODES.

It's only natural to expand beyond computer related items since it's not specified otherwise

You know there are deals sites that deal exclusively for computer items right?

it's pretty obvious that this site has turned into a 'clique' based on the replies. so much for having a different point of view. i'll make sure to post ads on tampon specials, peanut butter, plastic forks and the like. after all, these items are so closely related to computers. perhaps the 'tech' part should be taken out of anandtech. i say this because i believe the forum is advertised as "computer hardware discussion forum".

So what if some deals are not computer related? Big Deal. You don't have to click on them and you can use the search feature. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the fact that you plan to flood Hot Deals with tampon specials, peanut butter, plastic forks, and the like is pretty damn childish. As can be witnessed in Hot Deals you have already started to carry out this wonderful plan. Perhaps the mods could change your nickname to Professor Chaos.

If you have such a problem with the deals posted why do you plan to make it worse?

You Should
Be Banned.

You know what? When you actually contribute something to the forums maybe people will take you seriously. Apparently you are unable to not click on the items that do not interest you and you expect everyone else to lose out because of it. You know where the door is. Don't let it hit you in the ass.
