To get the competitive price match, you must have a Fry's near you, and as always, YMMV. It helps to have a copy of the Fry's ad with you. Happy hunting.

Update (see below) -- If you're really lucky, you'll get CC's 110% PM, and it's yours for $16.99.

Yeah...great deal!!! Only prob here in Sugar Land, Tx (Houston area) is the CC refuses to PM with Fry's. I've tried many times but CC won't touch Fry's prices...good job getting your CC to PM...maybe someday it'll work here as well...

I had the teenage hottie in the local CC ready to PM sam's club on the 160 WD last week. She couldn't get them on the phone, then the website went down so she went to the manager. He was a punk and said they don't match membership clubs. I tried the "anyone can shop there" but he blew me off and claimed "our after rebate price is lower...sorry."

So, easy come easy go. There's one CC that I won't shop at again!

Everyone else -- I took the time to call and confirm that CC in MY area would do it, and I said, YMMV. It's a great deal if you can get it. The deal at Fry's is a decent deal even without the rest of it. No whining allowed.

Thanks a lot for the heads-up Harvey, stopped by CC in Emeryville with a copy of todays Fry's add, after a little hassle (they couldnt get someone at Fry's to answer the phone to confirm they had it in stock) they did match the price plus 10% to 66.99. Got both the rebates so final price will be 16.99, awesome deal for a nice drive. My current HD has been slowly crapping out for the last couple months so it couldnt have some at a better time.

This deal is a hit or miss. I know my manager wouldnt do the price match because of the rebates. Also if you are trying to have someone from circuit city call frys, they wont pick up because they have caller ID. Just give the salesman/rep your cell phone and call them. Good luck.

I had the add with me, snagged it outta the sunday paper. Customer svc girl still called fry's anyway to make sure they had it in stock. I doubt it was a caller ID thing cause reception picked it up, just the dept they transferred the call to didnt. Half the time i try to call Fry's they never pick up either so i wasnt surprised. Regardless, it worked and i am very happy.

i tried two different stores...they wouldn't do the pricematch...

arguing with these people about their policy is about damn pointless...

they said they could only offer the difference of $10 dollars AFTER rebates. Their stupid policy clearly states that the pricematching *excludes* any rebates, so to me that means that they should pricematch the instore price and not even include the rebates in their thinking.

i got the manager and customer service dork's name. the manager would not come out and talk to me, which i think is rediculous. im going to try and file a complaint but i doubt anyone will listen.
