The rebates were out when I got to one officedepot, they had a single 45gb for $99.
I asked which was correct, the send in within a month or the dates on the back. Bottom line was that the computer guy went over to the manager and since they had the rebates out, they refunded the $30..Also got a ata-66 card for $10.. the 45gb for $99-$10 coupon-$30 rebate...$59 sounds good to me..Got a 30gb for $42 after tax at another OD...

Thanks for the alert...

Whew....I tried 5 of the closest stores to me in Socal. Man you guys are quick. No 5400 anywhere. Good deal for those of you who got it. Consider it an early CHristmas present =D

I've got 2 45Gb for $65 including taxes each.It wasn't a bad deal at all.It took me a while to convinced the sales person to refund me $30 instant rebat. But in the end everything was fine.

Back from the dead: Went to OD today by my office and they had 2 17.2GB 5400RPMs and a 45GB 5400RPM Western Digital on the shelf. No prices listed... this same store didn't have any of these when this thread first started.

Asked some sales dude to check the price. Carried both up to the front (17.2 and 45). Got up front, manager scanned the 17.2 = $99.88, then scanned the 45GB $99.88. "I'll take that one." (meaning the 45GB) :)

The sales dude said, "There's something wrong with that price?!". Manager looked confused too, but didn't put up a fight. Both congratulated me on the deal. I knew that it wasn't that hot though, in fact, I was just wishing the 17.2 was cheaper in the Computer...

On top of that, I forgot the $20 off $100 codes, coulda hadda really sweeeet deal. Unfortunately I wasn't expecting to pick up the drive and I knew if I left it to go back and get the codes it wouldn't be there when I returned.

Still: Moral of the story, go back and check your Office Depot's every once in a while, sometimes the stuff hiding in the back works it's way to the shelves.

Sometimes life just kicks you in the bunghole, and but finding these deals all makes up for it.

Out of nowhere, there was ONE left at a nearby OD. Got it for $84.88.

Thanks!!!!

i found one on my OD too, tried to use that 20 off 100 thing by telling her the coupon number but she said i'll have to bring in a print out of the coupon. She was nice and told me if i bring it later she'll give it to me. What's the correct way to use it? HELP please ;)

<< Yiu better have a tape backup drive if you use WD drives. WD have the poorest manufacturing standards in the industry..

Even though IBM teamed up with them their standards are much higher, so parts rejected by IBM may end up in WD drives..

This info comes straight from a WD manufacturing specialist..

What a total load of BS! Fortunately, most people in this Forum are more well-imformed ...

The WD 9.1 7200 hard drive I'm using with this computer has been in service for two years.

In my experience, WD has the same reliability as everyone else.

Yes, I hope to find a 45 GB still around for $99.99. The OD near me had some 17.2 GB drives for that price.

i tried to use a $10 off today for another item... the woman was nice and trying to figure it out, and then her fat, ugly, b*tch boss came over saying i had to have the postcard and couldn't use any codes without a real card.

It is more like an altered coupon, using the original 10 off 50 as template.
