This seems to be somewhat warm to hot on a Visiontek 9600XT 256 MB. Haven't jumped on this, but tempted.

Buy.com

Final price would be $122.99 w/ free shipping. There's also a 5% off coupon floating around, makes the final price around ~$116 now.

Just bought one. Also, looks like it has the voucher for Half-Life 2 free. So if you were planning on buying it then the card actually costs only $66. Good enough for me! Bye bye GF3.

Edit: Just did a search on Buy.com for xtasy 9600xt and it came up with multiple entries. Found something interesting. The $122.99 one has a Mfg Part#: VTK9600256CANA and it's manufacturer is VISIONTEK. There is another one... looks exactly the same with the same specs excepts it's Mfg Part#: VTK9600XT256 and it costs $212.99, also it's manufacturer is HARTFORD COMPUTER GROUP. Now I did a serch on google and both part#'s so up on multiple sites, all with the same BIG difference in price. I wonder if this is the 128-bit. Is there a 128-bit 9600xt? If it is then I'll cancel, and deal is cold.

all 9600 series are 128 bit.
only 9800 series has 256 bit or 128 bit memory interface.

Yea... was told that earlier. Did find something out. Went to my local Fry's and they had the VTK9600XT256 version for $229. However, it does not have the Half-Life 2 coupon. Unfortunatly. :(

Visiontek never offers any additional bundled software(just drivers) with their video cards. I guess they do this to keep the costs down. :(

However, they are stable cards.

Just got a reply back from Visiontek Cutomer Support.

"The VTK9600256CANA is an Xtasy 9600 256MB and VTK9600XT256 is an Xtasy 9600 XT 256 MB which clocks higher and a better video card than the regular 9600.

Thank you,
Visiontek Support"

So the 9600xt that is linked, really isn't an XT... just a regular 9600. :(
