<< When dose newegg post refurbs out for video cards? >>

There is no set time. They do it randomly throughout the day, and when they are posted, it's on a first come, first serve basis, which is pretty brutal sometimes ;)

Excellent Geforce 2 Card. I ugrated my cousin's computer from a Geforce 2MX to this card and it's been great so far.

No problems yet.

This is a great card for the money. People were snapping them up at 60-65 back in November, myself included. I paid 60 plus 5 shipping and CA tax. 52 + 7 shipping is a steal. Some people have had this card o/ced to 220/360 MHz. It comes stock at 175/286 MHz but there's a tweak to o/c. I've had mine running at 200/330 since Nov. Scores with my 900 MHz Athlon were 6700 with 3DMark 2000 and 3060 with 3DMark 2001.

I am looking for a geforce2 card for around 100 bucks. I was looking at this one and also the CardExpert GeForce2 MX 400 w/ 64megs of SDRAM. I know gts is better than the mx400, given the same amount of memory (from tomshardware review). So how would the GTS w/ 32mb ddr compare w/ the MX400 w/ 64mb sdram? The MX400 is a little bit more expensive... $65.

Newegg also has the GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GEFORCE2 Ti450 w/ 64 ddr ram for $90. I know the Ti chip is new and really good, and it doesn't cost that much more. So would this be the best buy overall? I would appreciate any input... thanks

Looks good. A friend of mine is looking to build up a new system, so I'll recommend this one to him. Thanks.

Here's the breakdown of the least to most powerful cards in the GF2 nVIDIA line up

MX200 > MX > MX400 > GTS-V > GTS > PRO > Ti

The best card from the GF2 series for $100 would be the Ti. They are clocked higher and has the fastest ram.

ckmoocow, i have the gainward gf2 450 non ti, and it clocks to 250/500, which is as high as the clock util goes (ships 200/400). Judging by the quality of the cards produced by Gainward in the recent past, their gf2 ti is probably a little better, and at least as good. Definitely worth the extra money in my opinion, as that card will squash either of the other 2 in terms of performance.

Although you can't get it for $100, the GF2 Ultra would be faster than the Ti.

From a value perspective, I'd say the GTS-V is the clear winner (unless you pick up a GTS for around $65 used), if you don't need cheesy nVidia TV-Out.

Arguably though, faster cards will be more obsolescence-proof, but if you were a hard-core gamer, you'd probably be looking at a GF3 Ti200 or better anyhow.

Good Find!!
Just picked one up. I was looking for a cheap Geforce based card for a cheapie rig I am putting together. I had been looking around for a geforce1 or geforce2 MX but this is about the same price! and is much better than a geforce2 MX. Now I can wait for the nforce2s with embedded geforce3 to come out.. I guess I will get more use out of the ECS K7VZM Mobo I picked up for $15.00...

There are other GTS-V's on pricewatch for around the same price but, getting this one form newegg (who is a retailer you can trust !!) and for $7 fed-EX Saver shipping makes this a hot deal... Especially since that is what some places are charging for an MX200..

Much appreciated..

I ordered this card last Thursday when it was $59 (+ $7 s/h). It bums me out when prices drop right after you order. :(

Oh well, I'm looking forward to it replacing a Nvidia Vanta in a P4 1.7Ghz system. I bought it based on all the good comments in this forum, the Anandtech Video forum, and user reviews here. One user stated he had to set the AGP Aperture to 32 MB in the BIOS for it to work, anyone else who has one of these cards have to do that? Thanks.

What about the DVD playback for this card? Can anyone tell me if this card is pretty good for DVD playback?

Thanks.

Good deal. I think I paid $70 shipped for this card when it came out in October/November. If you have a Celeron-I/II or a sub-800MHz PIII/Duron/Athlon, this is the fastest card you should get for your system...anything more expensive (GF3) is a waste because the CPU can't keep up.

Sounds like its a good card.

I'm just not sure if I should get it. I have been wanting to upgrade my card for a while now.

I got a $35 gift card to BB. They have a GF2MX400 made by visiontek (model 5564) for 99-20 MIR. So i would be paying 72.50 (including tax) before the rebate and after the gift card, making the final price 52.50.

This card would cost me out of pocket (after tax and shipping) 62.90.

I dont play too many games, but I have a Riva128 and its just not doing anything for me. But I really dont know which one I should get, lil help here please?
