Open the info.htm file in either Notepad or Wordpad, and paste the Code you want. The AIM profile is done in html tag so you have to provide an html code for it to look normal. (file locations for all known Operating Systems are listed below)

Save and Close the file, and restart AIM. Enjoy!

Windows 95/98:
C:WINDOWS\Application Data\Aim\ or C:\WINDOWS\aim95\your_screenName\info.htm

Windows 98 (Second Edition) and Windows ME:
C:\WINDOWS\aim95\your_screenName\info.htm

Windows 2000 (Professional):
C:\Documents and Settings\profile_name\Application Data\Aim\your_screenName\info.htm, where profile_name is the name of the user logged into the computer

Windows XP (Home Edition):
C:\WINDOWS\aim95\your_screenName\info.htm

Windows XP (Professional):
C:\Documents and Settings\profile_name\Application Data\Aim\your_screenName\info.htm

where profile_name is the name of the user logged into the computer and your_screenName is well, your screen name

Enjoy.

the profile space was set to X amount of lines. having unlimited is just a convenience factor, along with all of your friends that actually read them asking "how the hell did you do that?"

humm....

i thought of this before... but the problem is that (and i haven't tested it so I don't know if its a real problem or not) AIM only transfers a limted amount of data per send.... so just like you're not allowed to type a long IM and have it break it up into smaller IMs... others won't be able to read your large profile since it will be over the 1024 limit... so i'm guessing they'll either get the first part of it or get a error and not be able to read your profile at all.

i dunno... just a thought... it might work... but like Tanner said... a profile doesn't need to be THAT long ;)

Perhaps, but since the AIM Profile uses html tags, you can go over the limit simply by using "bold" or "italic" type, and not actually using actual text to fill up the limit. That's why it becomes convenient. And so far my friend added a couple of lines over his limit, and it works for me perfectly fine (I haven't edited my profile in that fashion).

Hmm, it doens't seem to work. When I put it in bold, my profile becomes, no information available. And when i put it normally, it still gets cut off. Any ideas?

I tried this at my friend's house on AIM 4.7 and it worked. Maybe there's something I overlooked. I'd suggest to check the html tags.

I have aim 4.8. Does this matter? Also, i used frontpage to edit it, so it should still have the html code right?

hmm.. actually this dosnt work too well. If your profile length is over about 1100 characters (76 over the 1024 limit), your profile will come up with "no information provided"

imchaos.com down? (i'm just getting 'page cannot be displayed' but then again i've been getting that alot lately on various sites, my router is screwing something up)

also, damnit, AIM won't load the javascript I just put in my info.htm, it loads just the code, not whats suppose to be there ;)
