I just got mine. The manual says it does not play CD-R, MP3, CD-RW.......but I have not had time to try them out.

I got one after reading about it on FW a few days ago. Pretty sweet. Im mounting it in my CRV. It does have AV input and output. So that means you can play DVD's on a big TV and you can play your dreamcast in the car. Nice. Im not sure about mp3 or vcd compatibility though (probably not).

Anyone have a CRV and this system? Im curious on where it fits nice, and what in-car antennae options there are. Also, any possibilities on getting the audio into the car stereo system? RF Transmitters recommendations etc?

I've been researching this one as well. According to an ebay seller, it does support CDR, CDRW and VCD. Maybe someone can confirm this.

A warning from the manual for the like 20" model MD20FL1 -

Region 1 DVD only. (Duh)

"Do not play "..(every format except DVD and Audio-CD)..to prevent accidental erasure of pre-recorded material."

Hmm... Potential destructive reads on a storage format?

I saw this combo at Costco the other day. Sorry, didn't note the manufacturer or the price. It may be worth while stopping by and check it out.

On Costco's website, they show a later model (M3) for 329.99 + shipping.

What is the difference between the $188 Overstock model and the Costco one for $329? All I can see for sure is the $329 model has front AND rear A/V jacks, whereas the $188 model only has front jacks. Also, the one at Costco says 181-channel tuner, but the Overstock model doesn't specify that (although, that may be assumed??).

i saw the model from the outpost unit over on ebay. It had a picture of the back of the unit and yes, there are output jacks. So it seems to be the EXACT same thing...

I ordered mine Sunday afternoon and it shipped out late last night. (Monday night)

I did ground shipping so I will be happy to see it by Labor day. ;)

In my experience Airborne Express is pretty fast, even with ground shipping. I'm hoping to see mine this week. Ships from Ohio and I am in Mass.

Whoops, my bad. I just realized it is being shipped by Airborne Express.

Normally I have UPS deliver and they are very slow.

Well... I got my two tv's today. But one arrived with the botom of the box open. It wsa just folded shut, no tape. The driver even warned me when I picked it up, that the bottom was only held with a bit of tape and to be careful. I opened it up and all looks ok. The kids are watching Jimmy Neutron on it right now. Should I be worried about it?

I got this unit a couple of weeks ago and it does have both rca and digital outputs. If you unfortunately have a tape deck in your vehicle there is an adapter that will run rca to min-phono out. Using this method you can finally make use of that worthless tape-deck with a tape adapter (level may be a little lower though, so you may have to setup the tv for variable output on the audio outs)

Otherwise, I think the company is PAC, some company makes a source adapter that can mount either in your trunk, under your seat, or where-ever. If you have an amplifier, either after market or stock you can plug in this way.

Last possibility is with GM cars, (don't know if other makes have them) which on their premium sound systems have an addition rca (or adaptable) input on the back of the head-unit. You should be able to utilize this one with the source selecter on the front of the unit.

I hope this helps a little.

Hey Pat, can you verify if it'll read VCD/CDR/CDRW?
