Hey guys - this is my first post in the hot deals forum so go easy :D...

Pep Boys has the Sylvania SilverStar Halogen bulbs (best regarded halogen type bulb out there) for only $11.88 with a coupon and a $6 MIR starting tomorrow Feb 1st. Here's the break down:

$39.99 Regular Price
-$23.11 Discount Coupon
-$6 MIR
----------------------
=$11.88

You need the coupon to get the price to $16.88 from Pep Boys flyer or print it from their website....heres the link:

Pep Boys Coupon

I'm pretty sure the link to the coupon is allowed since it's from Pep Boys' website - please correct me if I'm wrong....

This is a CRAZY price...I'm totally there tomorrow.

There was a price mistake on these a few weeks back. Could this be the same thing?

There's definitely a price mistake...or does $16.88-$6.00 <> $10.88?

I don't think its a price mistake...this is their advertised price in the flyer (unless of course it's a misprint).

Anyhow, I went today with the coupon and already got a pair for $17 and some change out the door. Deal is good!

Oh yea FYI - the cashier laughed at me when I handed her the coupon....and then a manager came over and he was like yea this coupon is good for these bulbs (so call a manager if you get a dumb cashier).

Except this deal is for two at ~ $12, not each.

By whom?
Lowdown on "bright white" halogen bulbs

Good price though!

Beg to differ. While I agree, the "cool blue" and other BS HID lookalikes actually provide worse lighting IMO.

Silverstars are not the same...also IMO. I have driven with them for about 6 months. First I swapped the lows only. After using them, I felt the lows were almost as bright as the stock high beams. Looking at all 4 bulbs on at the same time, it was clear to me that the silverstars were brighter. I now have them in all 4 headlights and my foglights. Only downer is they supposedly have a short lifespan.

For $11 for a pair, I'm going to get a backup set.

Not to rain on the parade. But the US versions of these bulbs are just about average. The real good SilverStars are the ones made by Osram (Sylvania's parent) and available in Europe only. It's quite like the K-mart Zymol vs the real Zymol for those in the auto-know-how. Trust me, I get mine from Europe.

Do you have a link for a dealer that would ship to the US?

The coupon price is for the twin pack, so yes for two bulbs....

My local store didn't even stock these, although it showed in their ad, and the ad in their front door showed a price of $19.99 under the Silverstars. I've been disappointed with Pep Boys in the past (their service stinks, they are ridiculously overpriced) and this only confirms that.

FYI, the store I checked was Newport News, VA. Other stores I've checked in the Philadelphia area in the past six months haven't stocked them either.

these are great bulbs for the price. i switched out my stock wrx headlights for these and it made a huge difference. i think i paid like $40 for the pair about a year ago, so this is a great deal

Yep my last pair barely lasted 6 months. This was with DTRs on my Jetta...so I would assume they would last longer if DTRs aren't used. I will be sending that pair back to Sylvania regardless, as bulbs (that are usually $40+/pair) should not be sold that don't last at least a year or two.

do you have to worry about the wattage messing up the harness in your car? I'm thinking about sticking this in my camry, after driving my dads lexus all winter break it feels like i'm dirving in the dark now.
