Hot Swapping CPU's

I was at work and heard about compaq supposedly working on it so that you can flip a switch it will cut power to the cpu and you can take it out and replace it and then flip it back on and it's all good. We only use proliants at work and we already have a few where you flip the switch and you can switch PCI cards in an out. anyone know where i could look for more information.

 
I'm pretty sure we can do that at work on our Tandem Himalaya S- seriers (made by compaq), but those are high-end servers made for 24hour non-stop processing. Not sure about a proliant..
