Here's the page that talks about the sale:
http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/Page.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=830201&CURRENT_USER%3C%3EATR_SCID=ECOMM&CURRENT_USER%3C%3EATR_PCode=None&CURRENT_USER%3C%3EATR_cartState=group&bmUID=1021327752665

Here's where it shows a $100 instant rebate in addition to the $70 MIR. My guess is that this is for new customers.

When I add the SCP-6000 to my cart the $100 off doesn't show up...anyone getting this to work?

good luck,
gew

EDIT: $9.99 AR for the TP-3000 PDA phone is pretty hot too =P

Well really nice phone..but the battery life on this phone SUCKS BIGTIME..I know 4 people with this phone they all love the looks of the phone but battery time is the pitts and the 6000 is a single band phone plus (sprint) does not sell a stronger(longer life) battery..:disgust:

Uh...I have this phone, and the battery life may not be great, but it is by no means the worst I've experienced (especially for its size). I've always charged all my phones every night anyways.

And what are you talking about Sprint not selling an extended life battery for the 6000??? Select Sanyo 6000 from the dropdown.

Second accessory listed is:

Extended Battery
- Lithium Ion Battery, 3.7 Volts
- Approximately 4 hours of talk time or 275 hours standby time in digital
59.99

I've also seen the extended battery at Sprint stores and RadioShack. Although I wouldn't buy it because it totally ruins the form factor of the phone.

Great deal! I just bought one. My friend has this phone and when I hold it I feel like Jet li...only exponentially more badass.

I am not for sure, but I thought was starting to blow out all the old phones because they are coming out with a new technology. I am not sure what it is, but it is like ATT switcing over to GSM. I know with ATT they are switching over to GSM and all the current phones are going to become incompatible soon.

It has green and orange backlights.

ATT phones aren't going to become obsolete. The TDMA network will be here for a while.

I'm almost positive that at least the scp 6000 is 3G voice ready. So quality on it will be as good as anything coming out in summer. The high speed data transfers is what they won't be ready for.

They won't be incompatible because the GSM network is extremely limited at this point in time. Maybe in a few years it will have expanded, but for now if you stray away from a major city you'd most likely have to have TDMA. The GSM will do both, but most people (including me) won't be willing to pay another $200 for a GSM phone.

... now if they offered 'em for free, THEN I'd switch ;)
