I'm planning to spend a couple days in Hot Springs, Arkansas next month. I would like to plan a romantic weekend with some serious Spa time for me and my GF.
Anyone have any experience with Hot Springs and their Spa/Bath locations ?
Do you want to stay downtown near bathhouse row? If you want to stay in a "landmark" hotel, the Arlington is your choice. It is within walking distance of the bathhouses, as well as several restaurants and shopping. If you want to get away from that, there are a ton of hotels by the lakes - just a matter of what you want. Also, the racing season is going on at Oaklawn - if you haven't ever been to the races, you should consider it. Just $2 to get in, and always a chance to hit a long shot. 🙂
The Arlington is cool as long as you haven't seen the Shining (negative). It scared the crap out of me when I stayed there. On the positive side, it has a hot tub and pool that overlooks the city!
I've stayed at the Majestic before which was pretty nice. There's also the Arlington, which is the sister resort to the Majestic. It's more upscale (formal) than the Majestic, though either would provide a pleasant experience. Both are right there on "Bathhouse Row".
