Hot spot in computer causing me problems

I replaced the stock cooler on my MSI NVidia 7800 GTX with a Arctic Cooling NV5 Rev3. I was hoping for cooler temperatures and I could overclock the card. The stock cooler blew from front to back, blowing the hot air into the case, but also passing air over the heatsinks at the rear of the card. The Silencer blows air out the back, but does not blow any air over the rear heatsinks. I've seen a good drop in the core temperature of the card. It idles at around 35 and under load is at around 56 with a room temp of about 26. HOWEVER, my mobo temperature has increased dramatically. Where I used to idle more or less at room temperature (26-27) now it idles at 32 degrees. The rear of the video card is very hot and it sits close to both my RAM and my Northbridge. I have had instablilty problems with random reboots since installing the cooler.

I have a P180 case using four Nexus fans all at max speed. The intake fan is blowing air directly over the rear of the video card, but it still remains hot. My idle CPU is at 36. 50 under load. And that's an OCed P4 650 to 4.08. Is there something about my card, the MSI that makes it run too hot in the back for the Silencer? Or is there some other way that I can cool the back of my card?

Sounds like you may benefit from the original video duct that came with the p180. Put a fan in it and try it.
Sounds like it may be just your heatsinks that need more air. You can try an intermediate 120mm fan between the intake and the vid card and see what happens.
The p180 has good air flow and your temps are not bad at all.
