DaveS, thanks for posting this great deal. Although I'm not in the market for a VCR (that's what ReplayTV is for), here are some helpful reviews. This seems to be the perfect entry level VCR, entry level being the key word. If you want a good quality VCR check out Panasonic, JVC and the higher end Sony models.

I am in the market for a fairly cheap, but useful vcr. I just got a Radeon 64MB VIVO and I need to VCR tuner to pick up the cable tv channels. Do you think this VCR would be fine, or do I need to spend the money for something else? BTW, this will not be the main VCR in the house. I have one for that duty already. What do you guys think?

How can you go wrong for this price? I got this for Christmas for about $140.00 total. Guess what I am taking back today? The VCR is not the best, but for the money (<$70.00), I can't think of a better one. It is cable ready too. If it does not work for you, just take it back.

Well, I went ahead and got it. DaveS, you were right. At this price, what could be the problem. I did have some trouble at first, because the first Best Buy was sold out. However, the second one had about 30 units in stock. They priced matched with Circuit City, no problem. BTW, if anyone wants to know, the Cool Springs Best Buy here in Nashville had a bunch left. Thanks again for the deal.

I have this VCR and it's a great low end VCR. The only thing I wish it had was S-video in and out, but Oh Well. I use it to change the channels for the video signal comming into my ATI AIW. Why have a 19&quot; TV when you can have a 21&quot; monitor haha!

Hmmm, Best Buy have it on their paper for $129 - $30MIR = $99 after rebate. Since it is Best Buy rebate, I wonder if they'll honor the pricematch. I've had bad experiences with BB pricematches.

Plus, Since rebate require original UPC, how are we going to get both the FREE Movie Rentals and $30 MIR?

Best Buy will PM, that is how I got mine. I am going to call the number on the Blockbuster rental rebate form and ask them about sending in the UPC for both. Maybe if you call, they will accept a photocopy.

Just went to Best Buy, and price matched without a problem.
On a humorous note, i was complaining to a companion about the fact that our school always buys 2 head VCR's, as opposed to 4 heads (the sony is a 4 head).
The best buy worker proceeded to say&quot; Do you know WHY 4 head is better?&quot;
A little embarrassed I admitted I did not, and he explained to me why in detail.
I guess some people there DO know what they're talking about .

I got it from best buy. they pricematched without a hitch.

steps:

1. buy from best buy at full price.
2. get in line at the customer service line and then show them the circuit city ad, and they will adjust the price - 10% and give you a refund.
3. mail in the rebate..
