Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds

I finally started to play HGS: Out of Bounds last night and got into the online play. Have a couple of quick questions.

1. When entering a game room what do the different icons on the right mean? One is green and the other is read with a head and waves coming off of it.

2. Is this game compatible with headsets? If so, what do I need to do to enable it.
