It got an 8.9 at IGN. Seems like a decent game if you are into golf.

Amazon has it on sale for $49.99 currently and I am thinking of ordering a copy. Has anyone else played this?

I played the Japanese version, and just picked up the US one at frys for $49.99. I think Circuity City also has it for that price. Great golf game, but that Alpine course is a PITA.

I've played the PS1 and PS2 versions. Will probably pick it up when I get the PS3 later. It's a very fun series. the IGN review is spot on with the escalating lvl of challenge once you open up the later courses.

I tried the demo from the UK store, but I really don't care for button presses to swing. I prefer using the analog stick to swing.

Grabbed it on Wednesday + have been playing it ever since.. If you like the series, its very much more of the same albeit with much improved graphics.

I am having alot of fun with it.

Id like to play a demo of it, but its not in the US store yet? Ugh. I played for many hours on my PSP few years ago, would like a bigger, better version of it.

Just got it...never played the previous versions, but years ago played Links on the PC (yes, it was a long time ago).

I like it, but I am using the traditional swing control, not the new one.

online is tons of fun, i've only played 2 rounds so far.

i have however seen some networking problems. it happened 2 times in a row where after i finished 1 game w/my friend, he would start a new game but i couldn't see it. i had to leave the lobby or something to get it to finally work.

never played the series before but this game is alot of fun (except when you miss a 4 foot putt by 0.5 inches)...

I breezed through the first few levels pretty easy but I can't seem to get fast the Safari level (I always lose by one stroke)...

I have the game and it's what i spent most of my time doing this weekend (other than watching the NCAA Tournament). It's addicting. I still haven't opened up all 6 courses.

This is the closest thing to a system seller for me right now for a PS3.

I'm pretty much a Hot Shots franchise whore. Hot Shots Golf 1 & 2 on the PSX were great, as were HSG3 & 4 on the PS2. Hot Shots Tennis for the PS2 is decent at best, I bought it mainly because it was a Hot Shots game, and while I was slightly impressed, it really just doesn't come close to the HSG experience.

If I didn't have HSG: Open Tee on the PSP I might have already purchased a PS3. Hopefully that will be enough to hold me over until the MGS4 bundle is released...!

??

??

It's similar in that the character styles look similar. If you want Albatross 18 on a console, get Super Swing Golf on the Wii. But it sucked ass.

I loved part 1 and 2 on psx and completed them to 100%.

I hadn't played hot shots since then and one of my online buddies basically peer pressured me into getting Hot Shots 5 since he was part of the reason I got Burnout Paradise on 360 and I ended up putting 80+ hours into that game. It's not that he had to peer pressure me since I love the franchise, I just didn' tknow if I wanted to pay full price.

Since CC had it on sale for $50 and I won like $120 in poker the prior week, I decided to pick it up. And I'm so happy I did.

The past 2 nights, I've said to myself "okay just 1 more", would finish, then say "okay I can do just ONE more ..." and finish, repeat, about 5-6 times. next thing i know over an hour has passed by :(

And then you have the online. They have tournaments every 15 minutes that you can join w/up to 50 people. It truly is a ton of fun.

Ugh...I find myself doing that with the PSP version. I'll usually try to get in a round before I go to sleep, but that always ends up being 4-5 with close to an hour gone as well.

So much fun though :D

How is everyone liking the new swing mechanics? I watched the IGN video review and it looks pretty straight forward and similar to the 3-click meter.

its awesome, i will never go back to the classic mode. it feels a lot more rewarding when you get good shots with this way than it does with the traditional method.

Sliced bread has now gone on record in calling itself the greatest thing before Hot Shots Golf.

Man I love this game. I never played the other titles but this one is taking up all of my spare time. I had the Japanese demo since last summer so I was anxiously waiting to pick this up. The practice has paid off as I have done pretty well online against good competition. The play mechanics are extremely impressive as it has a ton of factors that you must accurately account for when setting up your shot. Oh, and if you haven't tried to goofy course 0 in practice mode, you should check it out!

Guess I'll have to check that out then. I haven't gone into the practice mode at all.

I have it. I'll crack it open tonight and give it a shot. I've heard nothing but great things about this game. I'm not really the biggest golf fan though. :/
