I am curious as to where you got the info. If you work there don't admit it, we don't want you to lose your job. I am waiting for this to come on sale.

Be aware that drill is not a variable speed, but 2 speed (high/low). I owned until it ~ 2 weeks ago when someone decided they needed worse that I did. With that said, a solid drill, but not nearly as good as Milwaulkee's rotary hammer line.

variable speed also refers to the switch - is not just on/off its variable.

I don't have a 1/2 inch drill and I ocassionally have to drill into concrete. In fact in the next couple of weeks I will be building a shed and want to use lead anchors instead of a Hilti to secure the shed to the concrete pad.

Thanks for the input, I didn't realize they ment 2 speed when they said variable.

They also call grinders Variable speed when they are only 2 speed, kind of misleading if ya ask me.

They may have changed the drill to a vs, (vs to me=reostat setup, not 2 speed) but it didn't used to be. For setting anchors, tapcons, ect., it works great. That's about all I used it for and for the price it's a rock solid tool.

Strickland Electric has the Milwaukee 5378-20 1/2" Pistol Grip Hammer Drill at a regular price of $128.88. They always have specials and closeouts so bookmark them. Their shipping is only $4.00 and they are very reputable.

Does sears have a price guarantee policy? Can these be bought the day before then just go in and get the sale price adjusted the day of the sale? I would expect a big rush.

I don't know if they do for these sales but yes sears does have a price adjustment policy. Actually if you complain enough about anything sears will do what you want. If they won't do what you want just complain, complain, and complain some more. Hell if they won't do the price adjustment just return it and then tell them you changed your mind and would like to buy it again.

Oops ... a 'typo' on my part. I just re-checked the catalog and the number should be 17251. I just did a quick search at the Sears.Com site and I'm able to pull the tool up. I'd put a link to the tool in here, but it looks like the links are dynamically created with each session that gets established to their site. Thanks for pointing out the incorrect code for me. I'll change it further up in the thread also. :)

Actually, yes. However, you need to use a coupon from the flyer. The coupon is good for Friday and Saturday only. The coupon gives you $15.00 off any Craftsman tool purchase of $150 or more.

Items:

* Craftsman 15 gallon, 150 PSI, 3 HP Compressor (Item #: 16724): Regular price: $199.99, Sale Price: $179.99, Price if using the coupon: $164.99.
* Craftsman 4 gallan pancake compressor, 150 PSI (Item #: 15214): Price if using coupon: $164.99.
* Craftsman 6 gallon pancake compressor, 150 PSI, Plus, free finish nailing gun (Item #: 16534): Sale price: $269.99, Craftsman Club member price: $242.99.
* Craftsman 6 gallon pancake compressor, 135 PSI, 2 HP (Item #: 16524): Sale price: $199.99, Craftsman Club member price: $179.99.

Also, Sears is offering a 0% finance charge promotion until June 2003 on Porter Cable and Makita tools priced at $99.99 and up when you use a Sears charge card.

If you're into tools, then it really pays to become a member of the Craftsman Club. There are usually quite a few sales that will save you approximately 10% on Craftsman purchases.

Well yes, but don't expect service when you try do a price adjustment. Last time I did, thought the CSR gonna spit at me at any moment. This was only during their regular weekly sale and I still found the item cheaper elsewhere.

RotoZip offers their "Silver Anniversary Tool" which featues a 3.5 amp motor and 30,000 RPMs. (Item #: 26831): Sale Price: $59.99. Also, RotoZip offers their "Rebel" which appears to be their top of the line saw which features 2 speed ranges: 0 - 24,000 RPMs and 0 - 30,000 RPMs and a 5 amp motor. (Item #: 27983): $129.99.

Personally, the Sears deal for $39.99 looks like the one to get - especially if you're a hobbyist. If you're a professional contractror, then the Rebel might be better suited for you.
