We've been using software602's 602Pro Print Pack for over a year and are really happy with it. It sets itself up as a printer. To make a .pdf file, you click print, then choose print2pdf, then hit go. It prompts for the destination folder and a few other things. Next thing you know, whatever you see on the screen is sitting in your folder as a .pdf file. Couldn't be easier! Of course adobe acrobat has about 1,000 other options which we never use, this is all we need.
Cost is $299 for 25 licenses. Nearly as cheap to give .pdf writing ability to everyone in your office as it is to buy one license of acrobat.
I recommend it!

I use Distiller, it works the same way (print to PDF) but because of that it lacks some of the nice things of full featured PDF files. No hyperlinking, TOC, or bookmarking abilities. Not a killer, but if you're doing web work and have lots of html links those become useless.

FreePDF does work with other operating systems, you just have to follow the instructions carefully.

Follow this link for instuctions for other OS. I'm running FreePDF with Windows 2000 using this guide. Works really slick, just print into the "PDF Printer" and you have a pdf document. Whatever you can print can become a pdf document.
