*sigh* after Dave's original Insanity (it doesn't seem as hot as it did when it first came out), I no longer encountered people at the pizza shop who stood there like macho idiots and said "your hot is my mild. You can't make them hot enough for me. But, make them as hot as you can, I like them hot. The hotter the better." Those morons *always* lived to regret it. Although, some seemed happy at purchasing a dozen wings and only being able to finish 2. They'd typically get a to-go container, say "those were the best wings I ever had", and leave with tears streaming down their face. If only I had something > 5 million scoville units.
I always thought my dad was one of those big talkers about handling spicy food. He always said nothing was hot enough for him. So I got some Dave's Insanity Sauce. It was like a special reserve version that was signed and numbered by Dave. Hotter than the normal insanity sauce. Anyway, it said to use just a tiny bit.
So to play a joke on my dad, I got some regular salsa in two identical containers. One I spiked with way too much of the Insanity sauce, the other I left alone. I ate some of the un-spiked salsa, and then commented how good it was. When my dad wasn't looking, I switched it out for the Dave's spiked salsa, and gave it to my dad to try. I expected his face to turn red, and him to guzzle some milk or beer. Well, he LOVED it. He thought it was the best thing ever. Just to make sure the stuff worked, I gave some to my brother in law who likes spicy food. He about passed out from the heat.
My dad now puts a ton of the stuff in everything. He spikes his mustard with it, and eats it on hot dogs, corn dogs, etc. Frigging crazy.
