thanks Jokersmoker ! :)

Boycotting all Rio products because of this one-received as a gift and the battery door broke after 4 months of careful use. And whoops that's past their 90 day guarantee! They are of no help on their defective piece of crap.
Ok, now excuse me while I drink some tea to calm down!
wonder what she brews with ;):p

<sarcasm>Just look at the glowing review for this product</sarcasm>

Nice price, but nobody seems to like it.

Excellent post...thanks, but I'm looking for something cheap to take jogging and this is supposed to be bigger than a MD player...though I can't find dimensions, which would be too cumbersome. Gah, what a shame.

---Edit---

Okay, I found some sketchy specs that state 3.5 x 2.5 x .5. That's certainly small enough to workout with, so I'm in. Added a Jumbo pack of Huggies which we can never have enough of to get free shipping.

It's expandable up to 128 MB via SmartMedia cards

Actually, you should be able to install a 128MB smartmedia card, which will bring the total up for 192MB. I had owed the first two orginal Rio players, the PMP300 and PMP500, I thought they were great. But it is true about the battery cover on the 300 model since it does look like this Rio One, they seem to break very easily.

Stay away form RIO like the plague. The company has been bought three times already (unless I missed a recent one or something) somewhere in all the schuffling they got rid of their customer service reps. Pretty much all of them. There is no such thing as a warranty or a return. And unless this one is different than all other Rios recently, it is DRM crippled. (musicmatch software required to convert mp3s to a nonusable format except for the player)

Picked one up w/4 AA batteries for $26.xx shipped. Hopefully, 16 of the 17 reviews are wrong and it's actually a decent player ;)

guess we'll see...
