*sigh

I want to buy these so bad.
I won't though because I live in a college house with 3 other guys and I know they'd end up getting desroyed. I can't wait to have my own apartment once my lease runs out.

Don't be surprised if you get used goods, or something completely different if you order from Outpost.

Watch out for the wording on this, its very popular with speaker sales

"Polk Audio R30 Cherry
Two-Way Floor-Standing Loudspeaker"

Keyword: loudspeaR (one speaker)

Its an 'ok' deal even then but you can find the same exact speakers in bookshelf model (same driver/tweeter) for $89 pair ive seen them before, just paying for more wood slightly more bass do to volume

I bought some Polk Monitor 30 bookshelf speakers and wanted to eventually upgrade and get some floor standing and use the monitor 30's as rear speakers, but i dont know if these speakers are going to compliment the monitors very well, any comments? I almost bought the R15's from fry's when they were $50 but the salesman sold me on the monitors which where $125 and i am very happy he did.

The salesman did well for you. Seriously, the monitors are some very good speakers for their price. Personally, I'm in a higher price/quality category for speakers. I won't mind owning some Polk SDA's (reference floor standers circa '86), but those are hard to find, even on ebay (but then again they were a STEAL at the $2600 pricetag then, and are only more valuable now if they are in good condition). I'll have to just live with my setup of Onix Rockets, 1 pair RS1000's, 2 pair RS750's and RSC200 for the center channel. I use these for my computer as well. All I can say is absolutely awesome sound, but then again $7k worth of speakers ought to sound good :)

The monitors are still very good in their price range. Like I said, the salesman pointed you in the right direction.

Yeah I think he did as well, I'm very happy with them. I've been getting more and more picky about sound actually. I just got my first headphone amp and I have a pair of Ety ER-4S headphones along with my ipod and man i cant tell you how much of a difference the amp makes. Its crazy to think i carry around just under a thousand dollars with of audio equipment, but i've seen guys with 2 and 3k worth of stuff in a tiny little bag. some of these guys buy special cables that are no longer than a foot (interconnect) and they cost anywhere from $100 to $200
